In case of men and the total number of chromosomes is 23 pairs. Out of 46, 44 chromosomes are autosomes(A) and two other chromosomes are sex chromosomes XX female XY mele. In male diploid cells contains 44 A + XY chromosome and in female 44 A + XX. The female produces one type of eggs 22 + X. The male produce gametes are two types 22 + X and 22 + Y. Sperm with 22 A + X unit with the egg having 22 A+ X chromosomes the resultant zygote will be 44 A+ XX and it will develop into a female body. But if a sperm with the 22 A + Y fertilize an egg with 22 A + X chromosome the zygote will be 44 A + XY and the baby will be male.
