1.Parthenogenesis means development of embryo occurs from unfertilized egg.
2.it is of two types
a. Haploid parthenogenesis
b. Diploid parthenogenesis
3. Normally, the egg cell possess the haplopid number of chromosome and the egg developed into a haplopid embryo with out fertilization is called haplopid parthenogenesis.
4. During the development of female Gametophyte Or embryosac, if the process of megasporogenesis( meiosis) is absent the egg cell posses diploid number of chromosom and when this egg developed into embryo without fertilization is called diploid parthenogenesis.
5. In nature the haplopid parthenogenesis is more common then the diploid parthenogenesis.
